Words I love

I have a few words that are delightful to say, and some that I love to hear. Some words are just wonderful. Here are some that I am particularly fond of:

  • abscond
  • concise
  • defenestrate
  • persnickety
  • plump
  • inconceivable!
  • roughneck
  • lividity
  • saucy
  • sagacious

Just a small sample to start. Words rule.

I’m so with you on loving words. I’ve been toying with the idea of having a part of my classes dedicated to word love. And maybe even rewarding students who use words that feel good in the mouth.

I would have been so happy to have a prof do that. I’ve been a word geek for a long time.
